The BC curriculum is a guide for educators on topics to be covered in certain subject areas at certain times in students’ education. This new curriculum focuses on big ideas that students should understand by the end of the year and has content that can support that as well as curricular competencies that are the skills students will be using to support that. It is now a competency-based curriculum, using three main core competency areas, that is focused on giving students ways to think and work through learning in a way that can work for them beyond their K-12 education.
